Declaration of Disciplines for Semester 1, 2010

What is a discipline declaration?

As flexible students you are required to declare the discipline that you would like to pursue for the rest of your degree. If you are interested in Mechanical, Mechanical (Biomedical), Mechanical(Space), Aeronautical, Aeronautical (Space), Project Engg and Mgt (Civil) and Civil Engineering, we advise that you complete a declaration of disciplines form during Semester 2.

Faculty advice session

The faculty will hold information and advise session in Week 13 (Friday, 30th of October) from 2:00pm-4:00pm for Aeronautical, Aeronautical (Space), Mechanical, Mechanical (Space), Biomedical Engineering stream and from (Monday 12th October) 2.00pm-4.00pm & (Wednesday 14th October) 10.00am-12.00pm & 2:30pm-4.00pm for Civil stream, for any other inquiries related to Flexible First Year please contact A/Prof. M. Valix (Tuesday 27th & Thursday 29th October) 10:00am-12:00pm.

Please register in the faculty office in the link building if you need to see an advisor. Deadline for the registration is the end of Week 12 (Friday 23rd of October); otherwise you may not be provided with advice.

If you seeking advice please see the advisors directly in their office during your designated time.

How will this affect your pre-enrolment?

Note that your pre-enrolment for 2nd year may not be successful if you do not declare your discipline.

UAI and WAM requirements

Note that there are entry requirements for the specialist streams. If you did not achieve the cut-off UAI or a sufficiently high first year WAM (see 2009 Faculty Handbook) or the Degree Course Planner, you may not be eligible to apply for some of the streams. Please consult the appropriate discipline advisor for details.
