Research applications
Step 1
Find a potential research supervisor through Research Supervisor Connect. If a supervisor has agreed to support your candidature go to step 2.
Step 2
Complete an application form. Attach your proposal as agreed with your supervisor to the application form.
International applicants who receive an offer are automatically considered for available Scholarships within the University of Sydney. Applications must be received at the International Office by the specified deadline.
Domestic students must submit a separate application for scholarships.
Step 3:
Attach any examples of relevant papers or other evidence of research ability.
Step 4:
You must supply the following documentation:
- A complete academic transcript in original language of issue
- A certified translation of your academic transcript (if the original is not in English)
- A testamur or other proof of completion stating the degree awarded
- Plus any other documents as requested in the International application form
- If English is not your first language you must demonstrate English language proficiency.
- Domestic students must include written evidence that your supervisor has agreed to support your candidature.
- International students: must pay a non-refundable application processing fee of A$100 for each application.
If you have completed your course of study but have not been awarded your testamur, you should include official documentation from your institution stating the name of the degree you have completed and the date of completion.
