Master of Professional Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering and IT at the University of Sydney has recently launched a new Two Year “Master of Professional Engineering” (MPE) degree to provide practicing engineers, as well as engineers, wishing to enter the practice in Australia, a pathway to acquire the professional, design and domain-specific skills as part of their recognition to engineering practice.

The novel Masters degree puts students on an exciting graduate career pathway by integrating professional practice units of study and industry based projects into the program.

The program is specifically designed to support the training and retraining of:

  1. Overseas Engineering students wanting to enhance their qualification to practice locally and internationally; and
  2. Engineers switching into another engineering discipline from their initial area of specialisations.
  3. Non-engineering graduates wanting to change careers to engineering.

The MPE will provide the solid engineering, professional and research skills needed to meet the Engineering Australia accreditation requirement for stage 1 and stage 2 competencies as a practising engineer.
