Industry Placements

As part of the degree, students are required to do a 12 week placement in an industry related specialisation. Students are advised to commence looking for their placement as soon as possible. Engineering Sydney, in conjunction with the Schools of Engineering, work with industry partners to assist facilitation of the industry work placements included in the degree. These placements provide students with practical experience in the field, in addition providing the following benefits to companies:

• bring new ideas, specialised knowledge and “new blood” into the company;
• build relationships with potential employees – a valuable exercise in the current climate of skill shortages;
• offers excellent financial value;
• gain access to students from a variety of academic backgrounds allowing for increased diversity in the workplace.
