Scholarships for Commonwealth Supported Placement Scheme for 2010
The University of Sydney makes available HECS Scholarships through the Commonwealth Supported Placement Scheme. In 2010 there will be a number of HECS Scholarships for domestic Master of Professional Engineering students. These scholarships are competitive and will be assessed on the criteria below.
To be eligible you must:
- be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident by 1 February 2010
- have received a firm offer for the MPE from the Graduate School of Engineering and IT
- have completed a recognised tertiary qualification with a credit average or equivalent
- be enrolling as a full-time student in 2010
- not have completed a postgraduate degree supported by the Commonwealth Supported Placement Scheme
- not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship
Scholarships will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Academic performance
- CV
- Other professional training
- Community service
- Areas where leadership has been shown
- Personal statement of purpose
Conditions for maintaining the scholarship:
- Must achieve at least a credit average every semester
- Must remain full-time
- The Master of Professional Engineering must be completed in two years (96cps)

- CV and any other professional training record
- Additional personal information including:
- community service
- leadership positions
- personal statement of purpose
