In Sierra Leone only the very rich have opportunities to study and get a job. Every poor family’s dream is to become rich and the only way to do this is to get an education. We made cars from milk tins and made motors for them. My friends and I often entered competitions and won.

It was this creative spirit combined with a love of learning that inspired his decision to become an aerospace engineer from a very young age.

Moses believes his scholarship will provide him with the practical things that he needs to complete his degree and develop his career.

School leavers

University of Sydney Scholarships

The Faculty may award University of Sydney scholarships to students enrolling in any course in the Faculty.

In 2008, the University of Sydney offered one hundred Entry Scholarships at $5,000 p.a. for one year and fifty Merit Scholarships at $5,000 for the duration of degree.
Applications for University of Sydney Scholarships will open in July, and the closing date is usually late September.

Faculty of Engineering & IT Scholarships

The Faculty also offers a number of scholarships to school leavers. The scholarships are funded by a variety of industry partners, and the amounts awarded to students vary. School leavers will be considered for these scholarships when they apply for the University of Sydney scholarships. Therefore, only one application form needs to be filled out.

The faculty offers a variety of scholarships to current students. These scholarships are open to students from 2nd Yr, and usually include an industrial placement with the scholarship donor.
