Undergraduate Scholarships for Future Students in Engineering
The scholarships and awards listed below are open to students intending to commence studies in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies in 2010.
The Roads and Traffic Authority Scholarships
The Roads and Traffic Authority offer a total of five scholarships in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies;
- 3 in Civil Engineering
- 1 in Mechanical Engineering
- 1 in Electrical Engineering (with a Computer Systems specialisation).
For: Students entering Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Combined Degree students must seek written permission from the RTA and further conditions will apply
Value: $12,500 p.a.
Duration: Length of Degree
Other Information: Scholars shall undertake 12 weeks industrial experience with the RTA at the end of each academic year

The Winifred Margaret Neirous Scholarship in Civil Engineering
The scholarship was established in 1991 by an endowment made in honour and loving memory of Winifred Margaret Neirous.
For:Female students intending to study Structures and/or Geotechnical Engineering in the School of Civil Engineering
Value: $3,000 p.a.
Duration: Length of degree
Other Information: Applicants must provide evidence of financial hardship

The Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarships
Two scholarships are available for students wishing to study Chemical Engineering.
For:Students enrolling in Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering with a ATAR of 90 or above
Value: $1,500 p.a.
Duration: 3 years only

The Muriel Anderson Scholarship, for female students in the Faculty of Engineering
Established in 2004, with funding from the late Mrs Muriel Anderson to encourage and assist female students who are beginning their studies in Engineering.
For:Female students enrolling in Chemical, Biomedical, Mechanical, Mechanical (Space), Mechatronics, Mechatronics (Space), Aeronautical, Aeronautical (Space), Telecommunications, Software, Electrical, Electrical (Power) and Computer Engineering specialisations.
Value: $1,500 p.a.
Duration: 1 year only

Peter Nicol Russell Undergraduate Scholarship in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering
For:Students enrolling in the Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering

Microsoft Research Asia Scholarship in IT
For:Students enrolling in the Bachelor of Computer Science and Technology, Bachelor of Computer Science and Technology (Adv), or Bachelor of Information Technology degrees
Value: $5,000 p.a.
Duration: 4 years
Other Information:The scholarship holder shall be required, if selected, to take part in an industry placement at Microsoft Research Asia, Beijing.
