3. Learning beyond lectures: we’re about getting hands-on

The opportunities to get your hands dirty and apply what you’ve learned in the classroom in a real-world setting are endless. We have a team who create robots and drones to make Australian farms more efficient; a flight simulator with a 707 glass cockpit; a competition where students design and build a working race car; events for biomedical students to pitch innovations to healthcare professionals at Westmead hospital; and a working wind tunnel which was used to test the safety of New York’s Freedom Tower. And that’s just for starters.

We help Australian farmers with robots like ‘RIPPA’

Students experience what it’s like flying a Boeing 707-338 with a flight simulator

Our wind tunnel uses roughness blocks, spires and a trip board to simulate different atmospheric surface wind profiles

There are several options including Science, Arts, Commerce, Law and Design (Architecture).
